What Our Interior Design Services Include
Every project produces four things, and you approve each one before we move to the next.
Mood Board
The look of the room, agreed before anything gets drawn. Colors, materials, finishes, furniture style, and reference images in one place.
Layout Plan
The layout in single-line form. Where walls, doors, and openings sit, and how each area gets used. You see this before we detail anything.
Detailed Floor Plan
The dimensioned 2D plan. Furniture placement, fixture locations, finish callouts, and the clearances a contractor or installer needs.
3D Model
The room built in three dimensions. You see scale, natural light, and how the finishes sit next to each other before you buy anything.

Our Process
Our Interior Design Process
The one week is our working time, and waiting on your approvals adds to it.
Step 1
The Mood
Send a mood, a theme, a Pinterest board, or a few photos. If you have a floor plan or a survey, send that too. We handle the measuring and documentation from there. If you are not sure what you want, our designers help you narrow it down.
Step 2
Mood Board
We turn what you sent into one board: colors, materials, finishes, and furniture direction. You review it and tell us what to change before anything gets drawn.
Step 3
Layout Plan
The layout plan sets the walls, doors, openings, and how each area gets used. You see the arrangement before we spend time on dimensions and finishes.
Step 4
Floor Plan And 3D Model
The floor plan includes the dimensions, the furniture and fixture placement, and the finish callouts. The 3D model shows the same room in three dimensions, so you can check the plan against the space before you buy anything.
Step 5
Revisions And Handover
We include two rounds of revisions across the plan and the model. Each round after that costs $50. If you would rather hand it over, we take your approval on the mood board and deliver the finished model without the steps in between. This option includes a third round of revisions at no cost.
Design Services
Home Interior Design Services
We design one room, several rooms, or the complete house.
- Living rooms: seating, lighting, finishes
- Kitchens: layout, cabinetry, clearances
- Bathrooms: fixtures, tile, storage
- Bedrooms: furniture fit, closets, lighting
- Home offices: desk position, cables, daylight
- Basements and attics: height, egress, finishes
- Complete Home: one look throughout
Commercial Interior Design Services
Commercial spaces carry code, occupancy, and accessibility requirements that a residential plan does not. We design for:
- Offices and coworking floors
- Retail stores and showrooms
- Restaurants, cafes, and bars
- Clinics, dental practices, and medical offices
- Short-term rentals and multi-unit residential
- Salons, gyms, and studios
Commercial work is where our in-house structural and MEP teams matter most. Moving a wall, adding a restroom, or changing occupancy needs structural and MEP engineering that a design-only firm has to subcontract. We handle it in-house.
Furniture, Fixtures, And Finish Selections
Our interior design package includes style direction. Purchasing stays with you.
The mood board sets the furniture style, materials, and finishes.
The detailed floor plan shows where each piece goes and how much clearance it needs.
Specific products and brands get named on request.
Furniture and finishes can be bought from any retailer.
The package does not include a shopping list with links and prices.
The flat fee per room is all we charge.

Frequently Asked Questions
Interior Design Services FAQs
What do Interior Design Services include?
Interior design services include space planning, furniture layout, lighting, finishes, materials, and storage. Maison AEC delivers that as four documents: a mood board, a layout plan, a detailed floor plan, and a 3D model.
How much do interior design services cost?
Interior design services cost $2,000 to $15,000 depending on the scope of work. The national average is $8,550. Maison AEC charges $150 to $200 per room for a fixed set of deliverables, and you handle the buying.
What is the typical cost for an interior designer?
Interior designers typically charge $100 to $500 per hour, or a flat fee per room. Per-room fees depend on what sits inside them. A fee that covers design work alone is a few hundred dollars. A fee that also covers sourcing, ordering, and install coordination runs into the thousands. Maison AEC charges a flat $150 to $200 per room for the design documents, and purchasing stays with you.
What is the average cost of interior design?
The average cost of interior design is $9 per square foot, and most designers charge between $5 and $17 per square foot. Across a full project, that works out to $8,550 on average.
How long does an interior design project take?
Most rooms are delivered in one week. Projects that add construction drawings take two weeks. The one week is our working time, so waiting on your approvals adds to it.
How many revisions are included?
Maison AEC provides two rounds of free revisions with every package. In each round, you send your changes, and we apply them across the plan and the model. Each round after the first two costs $50.
Do I need an interior designer or an architect?
An interior designer works on the layout, furniture, finishes, and the lighting. An architect works on the building itself and produces the drawings a permit needs. If your project stays inside the existing space, an interior designer is enough. If it does not, Maison AEC also provides architectural design services and permit drawings.
What is the 3-5-7 rule in decorating?
The 3-5-7 rule is an interior design guideline that suggests grouping decorative items in odd numbers: three, five, or seven to make spaces look naturally balanced and visually engaging.
